Florida Film Festival Fans Wonder: "Where's the Capstone Classic Film?"
Is Starman the traditional capstone film at the Florida Film Fest this year? Not really. In past years, the final evening of the festival has enjoyed the presentation of a classic or cult film on the final night of the event.
This year's festival does not appear to include a classic or even cult film at the closing of the schedule. The closest festival-goers come to the annual tradition: Starman, though the film far precedes the closing of the festival.
The John Carpenter film remains a classic among cult fans but nowhere near meets the rich selection previous festivals have offered. "The theater should show Starman. I love the movie, but what happened to Hitchcock and many of the past classics shown at the conclusion of the festival for so many years?" said one Enzian fan.
Let's hope the festival brings back the tradition next year.
