Bach Festival Returns for 87th Annual Concert Extravaganza

The Bach Festival will be coming to Orlando for the concert series' 87th year Feb. 4.

This year's Bach Festival runs from from Feb. 4-27 and will host performances at Knowles Memorial Chapel on the Rollins College campus as well as the new Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center.

Knowles Chapel will inaugurate the concert series with a free organ recital from Ken Cowan at on Feb. 4. A "Concertos by Candlelight" concert featuring music from Grieg and Sibelius will take place on Feb. 11-12 in addition to a performance of Mendelssohn's Elijah at Steinmetz Hall on Feb. 20. Mozart's Requiem and Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 will also be performed at Trinity Prep on Feb. 25.

Guest musicians teaming up with the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra include organist Cowan, violinist Lisa Shihoten, pianist Olga Kern and her son Vladislav, and harpsichordist Joanne Kong.
