Zinco Jazz Club: Mexico's Top Venue for Swing, Blues, Bossa Nova, Light Rock & More
Zinco Jazz Club remains such a popular destination for Mexico City music lovers that it requires a reservation most nights of the week. And a visit to the venue is sure not to disappoint. The club offers a wide selection of music ranging from classic jazz and swing to rock and blues.
The journey begins with a walk from the street down to the dim lit basement. Entering the club feels like taking a step into the bygone era of where film noir on the silver screen. The establishment exhibits an ambience found nowhere else in Mexico City.
An evening at the club kicks off with dinner and cocktails, all crafted by master chefs and mixologists. A wide selection of fine wines and delicious desserts are also available for consumption.
One reviewer on tripadvisor described their experience by saying "this is like a Hollywood movie set of a jazz club, but that is just great. Literally subterranean and dark.... the band knocked it out of the park. Food: I went there partly because I knew they served rib. With a bottle of red wine they were really good."
True to the club's nature as a Jazz epicenter, the Zinco also hosts a monthy Big Band concert, playing tunes from a variety of eras and genres.
Performers at the club often play late into the night, and although it isn't recommended, entry may be granted at later hours without a reservation (not guaranteed).
