Rival Republican Groups to Gather in Welcome of Trump's Motorcade
Their public faces present the merry facade of unity. But under the surface, many spectators see a different story brewing. Dueling rallies will take place at the Hyatt on International Drive February 28 in a show of support for former President Donald Trump. One rally being held by Orange GOP Charles Hart will begin at 2 PM. The other, held by Florida Republican Assemblies official Lou Marin, is set to run throughout the day.
Though both leaders publicly deny their alleged feud, many Republicans in the county agree the rivalry amounts to a healthy excercise in politics by encouraging competition. The Orange County GOP recently moved meeting venues to the Pine Hills area in a rent-free space at Central Christian University, 5503 North Hiawassee. With meetings drawing few participants at the county REC, questions have been raised as to how many supporters Hart can muster for the Hyatt event. Meanwhile, Lou Marin of Central Florida's Republican Assemblies brought together hundreds at an event in Maitland recently where Trevor Loudon spoke.
Regardless of the outcome in either case, throngs of people will be expected to welcome the President upon his arrival, whether organized or not. Trump's speech will be his first official address since his Presidential term ended on January 20.
