DeSantis, Mills, Amesty Host Rally at Central Christian University
Governor Ron DeSantis and a cadre of Central Florida Republican candidates, including Congressional frontrunner Cory Mills and State House candidate Carolina Amesty, recently hosted an event at Orlando's Central Christian University. The trio were also joined by Calvin Wimish, who faces radical leftist Maxwell Frost, a Democrat, in his Congressional race. However, most polls show Frost in the lead.
The Governor praised the candidates for their clear vision and bold leadership.
Mills faces Democrat Karen Green in his bid for Congressional District 7, a seat being vacated by Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy. Green faces an uphill battle, being outraised and outmanned by her opposition. In addition, Nate Silver's 538 puts her chance of winning at slim to none.
Amesty's opponent in State House District 45, Allie Braswell, also started out the race being outfinanced and plagued by a plethora of scandals as well as a history of insolvency that forced the former Urban League head to quit his last campaign, for Florida's Chief Financial Officer. Braswell's record consists of three divorces, four bankruptcies, a series of foreclosures and lawuits, as well as a series of liens placed on his property by a city and homeowners association in Oakland.
The General Election is November 8th.
