Café-Boutique PIANO Now Open in Winter Park's Hannibal Square

Winter Park residents can't stop flocking to Hannibal Square's latest addition. Café-Boutique PIANO opened on July 28th and brings the sound of jazz, classic rock and even classical music to the popular district.

Polina Kaz, director of operations and the daughter of Café-Boutique PIANO's owners, said Winter Park fit perfectly with the European character the family hopes to instill in the cafe. “We looked at multiple locations in Winter Park, Winter Garden, Celebration, and decided that Hannibal Square would be the best option for our restaurant concept,” Kaz said. “We used to live in Europe, and downtown Winter Park has some old European atmosphere.”

The owners of the cafe, Andrei and Larisa Makhaev, developed the idea for the restaurant when he opened his first in Western Russia years ago. Although having lived in Russia for many years, the family remains staunch supporters of the Ukrainian fight for freedom as proudly demonstrated on the cafe's Instagram. Larisa Makhaev is a designer and artist and worked on the deveoplment of the interior of the restaurant to create a unique, intimate environment.

The restaurant features food from across the European continent with the cafe's motto titled ‘From the East to the West’.”

A few of the restaurant's top dishes: mussels in a creamy gorgonzola sauce, spaghetti with the homemade white wine sauce, shrimp, olives and cherry tomatoes, Balsamic Glazed Salmon served with grapefruit, Baked Grouper served with a Creamy Spinach Sauce and Red Peppers, and Beef Tenderloin with the Homemade Red Wine Sauce and Baked Pear (Polina's favorite).

For diners spending over $100 dollars, the restaurant also offers the ability to toss dice for a chance at 50% off a meal.

The restaurant is open daily (except on Mondays). Hours of operation are from 11 AM to 10 PM. The cafe features live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7-10 PM.
