Permitless Carry Advances in the Florida House

The Florida House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday bolstered a proposal that combines allowing people to carry concealed firearms without licenses and efforts to improve school safety, despite Democratic arguments that easing gun restrictions would increase violence.
A Senate committee on Monday passed a similar measure.
The House committee voted 16-7 to pass HB 543, which permits the carry of concealed guns circumventing state licensure, background screening and training. The bill also provides funding for greater school safety measures.
