Sturgill Touts Local Roots, Slams Primary Opponents
Congressional District 7 candidate Scott Sturgill slammed his primary opponents’ residency Saturday in a debate during the Sunshine Summit, moderated by Mark Levin.
Sturgill also touted his local roots.
“I am a fourth generation Seminole County resident. In fact I am the only candidate who was born and raised in the district,” Sturgill told the audience.
“I’ve got some great opponents here, but the first time they actually saw this district was when they registered to run for Congress.”
The business owner and former Soil and Water Commissioner also highlighted the need for maturity in politics: “Now more than ever we need adults in Washington. We have too many kids on both sides of the aisle who cannot control the spending.”
Many of Sturgill‘s opponents, including state representative Anthony Sabatini, do not live in the district. The fourth generation Seminole resident said he decided to run for his children and to help fix the state of the nation.
Sturgill will face off against Anthony Sabatini, Cory Mills, Rusty Roberts, Brady Duke, Erica Benfield and Al Santos on August 23rd.
