Seminole County Historical Society to Host "Notorious Nine" Event
The Seminole County Historical Society will be hosting "A Night with the Notorious Nine" on Saturday, March 12 at the Seminole County History Center, 300 Eslinger Way, Sanford. The event is billed as "a great night celebrating some of the most colorful and infamous men and women from Seminole County's history..."
The men and women featured in the event will be played in character by local professional actors and actresses. The historical figures to be highlighted include bootleggers, land speculators, crooked public officials, mobsters, exotic dancers and a failed presidential assassin.
Each ticket includes entrance to the opening reception (including beer/wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres) and timed entry to participate in a walking tour of the Museum of Seminole County History. Guests will meet Gordon Barnett and Hibbard Casselberry, the Dueling Real Estate Moguls....the Shady Sheriff, J. Luther Hobby...Fanne Foxe, the Tidal Basin Bombshell...Lewis Powell, the Presidential Assassin...Annie Balsley, the Murdering Wife...Samuel McMillan, the Headless Miser...Harlan Blackburn, the Local Mobster....and Forrest Lake, the Embezzling Banker.
Tickets for the Opening Reception ONLY are available at a reduced price. All proceeds will benefit the Billy Nygren Buggy Collection at the Museum of Seminole County History.
