Randy Ross Holds Apparent Gathering at Adult Entertainment Venue

State House candidate Randy Ross crossed the boundary lines of acceptable campaigning again, this time by hosting a gathering at Rachel's Orlando, an adult entertainment venue. Ross, a gay man, certainly did not attend the event for lascivious purposes.
However, many voices now privately wonder if the face of their State House district is best represented in Ross, especially in light of his long history of crime and poor judgement.
The unofficial gathering first appeared as a Facebook post, later confirmed by sources in the club. Strip clubs have long been known to cause a decrease in property values and often send communities careening down the tubes, and for good reason.
Secondary adverse impacts to the community from the presence of strip clubs are well known. Aside from whatever moral concerns government leaders may harbor about the industry, children and families simply don't arrive in a town and move to a red light district. Most shy away from such areas, and in turn, so do businesses. No business growth creates a stale job market and a lack of opportunities.
With much of adult entertainment turning to online platforms anyway, Ross should think long and hard about the type of business model he hopes to promote in the community.
