Packed Crowd Cheers Mills, Cruz at Horsepower Ranch in Geneva
Texas Senator Ted Cruz joined Congressional candidates Cory Mills and Scottie Moore in Geneva Friday for a rally in the final lap of the 2022 General Election. Truth and Courage PAC hosted the event at the packed Horsepower Ranch venue.
The event began with the national anthem played and Casselberry Commissioner Mark Busch led the pledge of allegiance.
Mills thanked rally-goers for their support and emphasized, among many points, the importance of protecting the agriculture sector, especially in light of China's recent purchase of countless acres of US farm and ranch land, including property adjacent to several military installations.
Mills also touted his belief in America's Christian heritage, highlighting the role faith and religion played in the founding of the nation.
"[The left] deems [America to be] godless and agnostic," Mills told the crowd. But the reality is this: every one of us who are true patriots and understand America know that our Constitution is based on Judeo-Christian beliefs and the protections of inalienable rights that come from God to man. Those rights don't go from God to government..."
In addition to this message, Mills also pledged to be a generational leader, not just a politician: "A true politician looks two to four years ahead to [the next election]. But a true patriot looks to the next generation and what the hell we leave behind."
The war hero also encouraged Americans be vocal about their beliefs as well as the importance of preserving and restoring the proper interpretation of the Tenth Amendment.
Senator Cruz endorsed Mills in a July press release and served as one of his earliest and most vocal supporters. Cruz praised Mills and Moore at the event for their boldness and willingness to lead. Cruz lambasted the Biden Administration's domestic policy and directed a special ire at the President's foreign policy: "A year ago, Joe Biden shamefully surrendered to the Taliban. And when that happened every enemy of America looked to the Oval office and took the measure of the man. They concluded our leaders were weak..."

Mills faces Democrat Karen Green in his bid for Congressional District 7, a seat being vacated by Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy. Green faces an uphill battle, being outraised and outmanned by her opposition. Moreover, Nate Silver's 538 puts her chance of winning at slim to none.
Mills defeated State Representative Anthony Sabatini and several other candidates in the Republican Primary in August, receiving several endorsements from his former opponents as the local GOP rallies to his side.
Congressman John Mica, the last serving Republican in Congressional District 7, lost in 2016 to Murphy.
Scottie Moore is running in Congressional District 9.
