Man Shot Dead at Winter Park Library

A Winter Park police officer shot and killed a man who fought with guests at a wedding reception Saturday night. The shooting took place at the city’s new $42-million Winter Park Library and Events Center.
Daniel Patrick Knight, 39, was identified as the shooter. Winter Park police allege he attacked two officers prior to the deadly shooting. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the fatal shooting at the request of police.
The new Winter Park Library and Events Center grand opening took place in December of 2021.
