Fundraising Campaign Launched for Hacked Central Florida Post

Despite suspensions from Twitter and Facebook, journalist and activist Jacob Engels remained a steadfast participant in both local and national politics. Even after his social media bans, Engels maintained a presence on many different sites, including his own Central Florida Post, until recently, when an unknown hacker took his site offline.

Critics and supporters alike have voiced reaction to the ban, though Engels' allies were quickest to express their positive sentiments about his work by setting up a GiveSendGo.com drive.

The fundraising effort set a goal $6,500 to bring the site back to life. The site's iconic sun-blazed logo and entire archive appear to be down, replaced by Chinese characters.

Engels and Trump confidant Roger Stone now appear as the feature images on a temporary landing page where a countdown clock ticks closer to the page's apparent re-opening.

Over the years, Engels broke several well-known local and national stories, many of which were featured on outlets such as Fox News, CNN and in publications such as the Daily Mail and the Orlando Sentinel, among others.
