Stevenson the Right Choice for Pasco Commission
Troy Stevenson didn't need the stresses of campaign life. His successful business career tells the story of the quintessential American entrepreneur. But Stevenson decided to run for county commissioner for one reason: a duty to service.
"I'm not in it for the money. I'm in it for the people. I want to make Pasco the best place to live in Florida," Stevenson told the Local News in a recent interview.
A first responder, Stevenson first learned the meaning of duty from his service to the community, and then later in his philanthropic efforts feeding the homeless.
Pasco County faces many challenges, from public safety to infrastructure and economic development. Stevenson has the steam and experience to get the job done. He isn't a politician. As an entrepreneur, a father, a grandfather, and a husband of 29 years, Stevenson brings both family values and business credentials to the table.
He is an active member of his church: Life Church in Wesley Chapel and he is on the board of directors of the Wesley Chapel Rotary and the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce. Stevenson owns Acme on the Go, an LED Truck Fleet, that markets local business and he has donated his Trucks and Services to hundreds of Community Events.
Stevenson's fellow firemen placed faith in him to help save lives. Now they once again they have placed faith in Stevenson to save Pasco politically, endorsing the longtime Land-o-Lakes resident for county commissioner. Stevenson will look beyond the petty political fights dogging our national conversation and focus on the bread and butter issues that matter to residents. Fixing the potholes. Improving quality of life. Making sure residents can feel safe when they go to sleep at night.
"We are facing an important issues in our county, first of all being public safety. Pasco County doesn't have the infrastructure to sustain the massive building that is occurring in our area. I personally have had first-hand experience, which I hope no one else will go through but, unfortunately I know that is not the case.," Stevenson told OLN. "I had to wait over 20 long minutes for an ambulance to come to my wife’s aid. I have spoken with many of Pasco’s brave deputies, fire and medical first responders."
"They are stressed out to the max with the limited number of resources they have at their disposal to keep us safe. I will work for them and for you because it will affect your safety and that is most important to me. I am extremely humbled that the Firefighters have given me their endorsement."
Stevenson also relayed his concern for the homeless crisis in Pasco: "I know homelessness is a problem that must be addressed. And I've already been in the streets for years helping those in need. I have been feeding the homeless for over a decade every week. The satisfaction that gives me is not explainable, but it isn't enough. Our county needs to do more, especially our homeless vets who served our country."
Many residents of Pasco have rightly been frustrated with the quality of the roads and Stevenson agrees something must happen to fix it: "The roads are another issue in this county that needs attention. I know this well due to the fact I drive the county everyday going back and forth to all of the charity events I help with as well with my mobile advertising company."
We feel Stevenson is not only the right choice for Pasco, but he is the only choice. His experience and integrity, combined with his busniess acumen and family oriented values make the perfect fit for the county commission. In short, Stevenson is the right man at the right time. We strongly endorse Troy Stevenson for Pasco County commissioner.
