Braswell Fosters Culture of Mismanagement, Wokeness at Winter Garden Theater: report
Serial bankrupt and failed candidate for Florida's Chief Financial Officer, Allie Braswell, now seeks to run for office again, this time in a bid for State Representative in Orlando, and residents are raising questions about the far left politician's finances.
Braswell, until recently, served as Chairman of the Board for the Winter Garden Theater and his leadership recently came under fire from the Orlando Sentinel and other outlets for alleged financial mismanagement. A wave of resignations and show cancellations rocked the Garden Theater throughout the summer and staff and performers shared their concerns with OLN.
"A lot of us are asking where the money is going," Shannon* of the Garden Theater explained at the time. "There is a reason why a lot of us are quitting right now. Perhaps if Allie spent more time doing his job and less time campaigning we'd be in a better position."
In an email to board members, obtained by the Orlando Local News, staff members reported that “by this time last year, we had 803 subscribers. This year, in the same time frame, we have 612, as we had to cancel a subscription acquisition letter, emails, and social media pushes due to the ‘A Bronx Tale’ news.”
The cost to the theater as of June tallied up to over $20,000 in refunds and cancellations.
In a now removed statement on the Garden Theater's social media pages, staff vented their complaints, lashing out at Braswell for his ineptitude:
“As a staff, we have been pushed into a position of exhaustion, both physically and mentally,” the post stated. “Our interactions with the board have been met with unanswered questions, aggression, retaliatory behavior and toxicity.”
Braswell's history of financial mismanagement extends beyond the theater as well, with four bankruptcies to his name and a hhost of lawsuits and foreclosures.
In addition to leading the Garden Theater toward insolvency, Braswell also reoriented the focus of the theater toward "Woke" policies. Braswell holds a certificate in Advanced Diversity Equity And Inclusion and even served as what many have described as a "Woke" consultant, according to his LinkedIn page.
In a series of tweets during the COVID-19 pandemic in August of 2020, Braswell lashed out at the medical field, labeling professionals and executives as racist with seemingly the same toxicity as his interactions at the Garden Theater:
“’Racists don’t wear sheets when they are seated in the C-suite, in the boardrooms of hospitals & medical schools, or editorial boards of medical journals. So it is up to our allies in those rooms to recognize evil where it exists and purge it from the culture of medicine.’”
But it isn't just the Garden Theater or the medical field under attack. It may be the taxpayers next. Allie Braswell's history of racism, divisive rhetoric, and insolvency now await the voters' review at the ballot box.
Braswell faces Republican Carolina Amesty in the General Election for State House district 45. Braswell could not be reached for comment.
