Winter Park's Former "Luma" Space Prepares For New Occupant

Though many still scratch their heads over the wildly popular Luma's departure, local restaurant fanatics can now breath a sigh of relief. Not only will a replacement be coming to the former Luma space on Park Avenue in Winter Park, but a top notch one at that.

The upscale Ava MediterrAegean restaurant will provide a menu filled with "flavors and colors of the Silk Road" similar to its sister restaurant, Mila MediterrAsian, in South Beach.

Presented as "a celebration of splendor, freedom, escapism and joy," the restaurant will also likely be a magnet for super-models, if past precedent at the south Florida restaurant serves any purpose.

In Greek, Ava translates as "life, water, island and bird" and will feature a menu from the Mediterranean and Cycladic Islands, in conjunction with "Silk Road" tastes.

The restaurant will aim to be the "it" spot of Winter Park and, mimicking Mila in Miami.
