Sanford Jazz Ensemble Leaves Audience Misty-Eyed and in Love with Swing

The Sanford Jazz Ensemble left viewers misty eyed and in love with tunes ranging from all big band genres including hot, funky and sweet. Held at the Wayne Densch Theater in Downtown Sanford, band leader David "Weave" Weaver led the orchestra through tunes such as Misty, My Foolish Heart and The Song is You.

The band also ventured into non-standrds jazz with hits such as Provo, Traces and the Worse that Could Happen. The concert concluded with a military salute and the meldoy to Sun Goddess.

The band boasts of over a dozen members with five on saxe, four trombones, four trumpets, a guitarist and a bassist, a singer and a pianist. The band's schedule inlcudes several more presentations over the next few weeks and months, including a Christmas concert on Dec. 19th.
