Sabatini Declares Run for Congress
The winds of popular support blew strong at JB Boondocks in Lake County, as State Representative Anthony Sabatini announced a bid for US Congress. Amid heavy gusts of wind and a packed crowd of supporters, Sabatini rallied Republicans with a rousing speech. “I am proud to say when the political winds blow, I don’t go where the wind goes,” the State Rep. said outside his family’s beloved Howie Restaurant.
Hundreds of his supporters swarmed around Sabatini at a grassy area next to Little Lake Harris, with onlookers overflowing the premises. Sabatini stressed the urgency of the times and talked about the need for conservatives to push back against the political and cultural forces at play in the nation:
"Florida is the free-est state in the nation. We worked hard to make it that way, we worked hard keep it that way. Now we need to take some of that fight to Congress, to Washington DC. We have never in American history faced a moment like this. Everything the founding fathers believed in is on the line right now in politics. We are going from the land of the pilgrims pride to the land of the hateful woke."
The State Rep. further distinguished his style of leadership from his potential establishment rivals, drawing a contrast between Trump conservatives and those in the middle. "So what do we need? We certainly don’t need more people walking around with a lapel pen doing the status quo." Sabatini exclaimed. "We need fighters. We need more people like Donald Trump and less people like Mitch McConnell."
With his wife Francheska by his side, Sabatini greeted countless waves of loyal supporters following his impassioned speech, as crowds flocked to the Sabatini family restaurant.
All districts in the state of Florida will be re-drawn in the coming year. Although Sabatini has chosen to file within a district currently held by Rep. Daniel Webster, with the conclusion of the 2020 census, more will be known about the specific borders of the new district and the location where Sabatini will conduct his campaign. The groundswell of support for his campaign serves as a strong defense against competitors.
A large bulk of Sabatini's supporters hailed from Lake County, though many residents traveled from all over Central Florida to attend the event. Dozens of local Republican leaders and elected officials from Seminole and Orange arrived to bolster Sabatini's announcement as well.
