Rubio Mocks Jill Biden's Racist "Taco" Remarks: "I Identify as a Cuban Sandwich"
In an appearance Thursday on Fox and Friends, Florida Senator Marco Rubio racked up laughs during a segment mocking First Lady Jill Biden. The First lady's recent racist comment regarding Latinos and "breakfast tacos" caused a political firestorm to rage throughout the GOP and the hispanic community at large.
In his interview with the Fox News morning program, Rubio joked that "personally, I identify as a Cuban sandwich."
The Senator cirticized liberals as wealthy, out of touch elites who seek to divide the country.
“They write this stuff up because the entire Democratic agenda is designed to cater to the pet issues of affluent liberals living in trendy neighborhoods and expensive cities, far away from the consequences of things they are for,” Rubio added.
“Normal, everyday people, working people, look at this and say, ‘These people don’t fight for us. They are fighting for a small group of radical, progressive, rich liberals, and the rest of us are on our own.'”
Michael LaRosa, the First Lady’s Press Secretary, released a statement after the speech apologizing on behalf of Biden.
“The First Lady apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community,” LaRosa’s statement read.
While the RNC continues to sell, taco themed T-shirts in response to the gaffe, the Orlando Local News reached out to the First Lady's office for comment, with no word on whether the Mrs. Biden will include Vaca Frita or Masa de Puerco in her next speech to the Latino American community.
