Republican Assembly of Orange County Hosts Epoch Times Writer Trevor Loudon
The packed crowds at Monday's Orange County Republican Assembly greeted Epoch Times writer and activist Trevor Loudon with thunderous rounds of applause. Hosted by the organization's President Lou Marin, the event focused primarily on what Loudon sees as the Democratic Party's end goal: undermining the United States to the benefit of China. The speaker explained his view on the 2020 election and touched on many of the same themes in his book "White House Reds: Communists, Socialists and Security Risks Running for President" published last year.
"If [they] are successful, guess who runs the world? China," Loudon said to the audience Monday evening. "The COVID was a deliberate Chinese military operation to bring down your President and wreck your military budget... When COVID came from China... we can prove it was genetically spread.... This is the real reason they did it: to destroy Trump first, and then the economy."
Loudon further delved into the possibility that domestic groups, backed by Chinese interests, manipulated the US election. These organizations, Loudon alleged, form the basis of an effort to undermine US democracy: "This is the Chinese, right under your very noses, working with the Democratic Party and the Communists [to flip southern states]. That needs to be investigated by the Attorney General.... You've got to clean this up real fast."
Not only did his emphasis on China resonate with the group, but also his points on domestic issues such as ending Open Primaries across the nation and curtailing the use of electronic ballots. Originating in Chirstchurch, New Zealand, Loudon brought a foreign perspective to the mainly local crowd. Involved for many years in the Campaign for a Soviet-Free New Zealand (CFSFNZ), Loudon partnered with conservative groups including Stanley Newman's pro-ANZUS Plains Club, the Coalition of Concerned Citizens and some Christian groups throughout his career in a campaign to expose leftists within New Zealand and beyond.
Orange Republican Assembly President, Lou Marin, told the Local News that the group anticipates future events to draw even more support from the community's GOP base. Held in Maitland at the Sheraton Marriott, the meeting also served as a networking event for the grassroots of Orange County Republicans. In light of the official county GOP's lack of activity in the area, some speculate Lou Marin may harbor plans to take the current county party head on by mounting a challenge to the incumbent Chairman, Charles Hart. The Local News recently found Hart to be in apparent violation of party rules by failing to meet the in county residency requirement, according to the Orange County Bar's website where he listed his physical address in Seminole County. Reports indicate Hart may be moving to Orange County as soon as this month with the purchase of a lease near downtown's Eola area.
