Former Jai Alai Fronton May Be Potential Entertainment Complex
Casselberry's former jai alai fronton, now a church on 17-92, may soon become an entertainment complex.
Property owner Richard Birdoff and a developer (The Cordish Companies) now seek to renovate and repurpose the sprawling complex.
The Orlando Sentinel reported that plans may also encompass residential apartment buildings, dining options, a sportsbook, poker rooms, a country-music themed restaurant, an outdoor stage and potentially thousands of apartments on top of 70,000 square feet of additional commercial space.
Although Seminole County statutes require a vote on businesses engaged in gambling, the facility already holds an industry license.
