DeSantis to Sign Bill Barring Protests Outside of Houses
A bill restricting protests outside homes was sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis' on Thursday.
The protest bill (HB 1571), approved by lawmakers in March, prevents protests “with the intent to harass or disturb that person in his or her dwelling.”
The Legislature formally sent the bill to DeSantis on Thursday. The bill comes at a time when many in the GOP have aimed their ire at the White House and Democrats who backed those supporting abortion-rights protests outside the homes of U.S. Supreme Court justices.
The bill rates the act as a criminal second-degree misdemeanor charges.
