Democrat Karen Green Mocks Ian Victims with Bizarre Publicity Stunt
Congressional hopefuls Cory Mills (R-FL) and Karen Green (D-FL) both exchanged a war of words on Twitter this week over inflammatory rhetoric aimed at Mills. Green claimed in a statement that Mills refused to attend debates. Mills responded to the false attacks by pointing out the fact that the candidate's time has largely been consumed with hurricane relief efforts.
Mills recently provided food and support for thousands of Ian victims in the district whilst Green engaged in a mockery of hurricane victims through a staged publicity stunt. The bizarre stunt portrayed Green standing next to a shirtless man, presumably a hurricane victim, in an area resembling a construction site.
But then, while many victims stilled were hard at work rebuilding their lives, Green decided to go political.
"It’s a shame Mr. Mills declined all media invitations to debate me. If he won’t show up to debate the issues affecting D7 & the [world], don’t expect him to show up for you, unless you agree w/ Trump. Why won't he openly dialogue w/ the voters & local TV on various issues?" Green asked in the tweet.
Mills gave a swift retort to Green's divisive accusations, as seen below.
Mills also questioned her future ability to lead in light of her recent history, saying "if she won’t be there to help the community when we are in need, and only tries cheap political stunts, then expect her to rubber stamp Pelosi/ radical left."
Green faces Mills in the Nov. General Election for Congressional District 7. Green could not be reached for comment.
